23. A Tricky Operation
Disguised as the crippled doctor, John Drake trundles his wheel chair down the corridor of the nerve clinic, past a door marked Operating Theatre. Suddenly the door opens, and a surgeon in overalls comes out and speaks to Drake in Portuguese. Drake attempts to mumble a quick reply, but his knowledge of Portuguese is not faultless. A quick look at his face shows that he is not Dr Braganza and the surgeon whips a gun from the pocket of his overall.
