Frank Maher, born in London on June 18th 1929 served as a stunt double for Patrick McGoohan on both Danger Man and The Prisoner. He also had brief parts playing thugs in three fifty-minute Danger Man episodes and as a gunman in The Prisoner episode 'Living in Harmony'.
Maher served in the Army Parachute Regiment during World War II. He was wounded in action and hospitalised. Following his recovery he made his film debut as an extra in the historical drama Caesar and Cleopatra.
After his work on Danger Man and The Prisoner, Maher worked as a stuntman and stunt coordinator on The Champions, Department S, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) and Blakes 7.
Maher died aged 78 on July 13th 2007. |
