Peter Swanwick was born Walter Peter Swanwick in 1922 in Nottingham. A regular character in the Prisoner, he appeared in eight episodes as the Supervisor. Prior to the Prisoner, he appeared in two episodes of Danger Man in series one and three. His second appearance was in the episode 'The Paper Chase' as poker playing Joe.
Swanwick began his film career with appearance in 'The African Queen' in 1951 and went on to appear in many films, including 'The Colditz Story', 'Ill Met By Moonlight', 'The Trunk' and 'Circus of Horrors'. His television credits included 'Fabian of The Yard', 'Danger Man', 'Man In A Suitcase' and 'Softly, Softly'.
Swanwick's final TV appearance came in The Avengers episode 'Legacy of Death' before his untimely death, aged just 46 on November 14th 1968. |
