EPISODE DETAILS:
Ralph Smart’s third fifty-minute instalment ‘A Room in the Basement’ was the 18th episode to be filmed at MGM Borehamwood studios between Monday 23rd November and Friday 4th December 1964.

It was the second episode to star Jane Merrow, this time playing Susan Turnbull whose husband Keith has been kidnapped and is being held in a basement room within the Romanian embassy in Switzerland. Susan turns to Drake, a friend of her husbands for help, but Drake’s superiors say that there’s nothing they can do and to keep out of it. Drake however has other ideas and devises an escape plan that soon has Keith out of the embassy.
